Empower Your Team & Streamline The Approval Process

Empowerment is the hardest thing for a candidate, elected official, or staffer to do, but it’s one of the most important.  Blogs and social networking sites are exploding because they allow for immediate and timely posting.  Many times good content and creative ideas are killed in the approval process of a political staff. For real success, empower your official staff, campaign staff, and your web team to make decisions that allow for immediate implementation.

Believe it or not, one of the biggest problems in political Internet implementation is the approval process.  Don’t make twelve people approve content before it can go out. If that happens, content won’t be posted for days and by then it won’t be timely. Determine who can approve content and create a streamlined system so that it can be posted immediately.

I’ve worked with candidates in the past who’ve run every mail piece by twenty friends, creating an amazing lack of effectiveness.  On the Internet that content might as well be thrown away. I’ve also worked with very large staffs that allow content to be researched, approved, and posted very soon after it’s written.  Their site has blown up because people know they can keep tuning in to get up-to-date information.
