Must Use WordPress Plugins

Senator Jim DeMint’s website continues to grow in large part because of his use of social networking tools. According to TweetCongress.org, Senator DeMint is the third most followed member of Congress. He gains an average 29 new followers a day and by next month he is expected to have over 7,500 followers.

When designing a site, it’s very important to implement social networking tools into the design. That’s why we use the incredibly versatile WordPress platform. Everyday thrifty developers are building new plug-ins that enhance WordPress sites. That means Senator DeMint and other WordPress users can continually upgrade their sites for free.

My current two favorite plugins are Share This and Tweet Suite.

Share This is a great plugin that allows you to share a blog post through numerous social networks:

You can also post the link on another blogging platform:

sharethisblog

Or you can email the link directly to your friends and family:

sharethisemail

I’m also completely in love with the Tweet Suite plugin. Tweet Suite puts a cool little Twitter button at the top of each posts, encouraging visitors to tweet the post link to their friends.

Even cooler, Tweet Suite tracks each Tweet in the comment section of the blog.

The Internet isn’t going to stop growing anytime soon. As soon as you launch your website its already behind the newest fads. WordPress and plugins are a cheap and easy way to keep up. Just hope you have a super tech-savvy client like Senator Jim DeMint who lets you do it.
