A little change can go a long way

Congressman Joe Wilson has been one of our clients since the beginning. And when we first finished his site- it was incredibly current- always easy to update and very flashy with lots of pictures and donation capabilities.

But, like most things over time, his site started to look out- dated, especially compared to some of the websites we have just built.  Because we have grown in our website ventures over the last year or so, our skills and ideas have grown. We are smarter. We are better.

We have to be.

The Internet changes every day.

So, what did we do to bring his site back up to the top?

Well, for starters, when we created his site- Twitter was unheard of. (Hard to believe, right?!) But now, Congressman Wilson twitters himself and really enjoys it. So, we added a live Twitter feed to his site, called “Joe Works, Tweets from the Road.”  If you follow Congressman Wilson on twitter (and we hope that you do!) you should check out his new Twitter background as well.

When we started his site, video and Youtube were still in their growing phases. Now that video is huge-we have started doing short 1-2 minute updates on his current work or travels. His “Joe Works TV” is now a feature we are really proud of.

And a really simple change- that really makes all the difference- is that we got our wonderful graphic designer to update his background to something that is really bold, and pops. It completely changes the way his site looks.

What do you think of it?

Is it time for your website to get an upgrade?

If you have a good platform already- there isnt a need to spend 10k to freshen up your website, just a few new great ideas and $100 bucks here and there, can really go a long way.
