Are you always on?

I don’t have a ton of Facebook followers. I don’t really care too. The things I talk about on my blog are niche, so most people really don’t care. Nor do I have a magnetic Gary Vaynerchuk personality. I am who I am, kinda bland, just a geeky beach bum political hack.

But the people who follow me on Facebook think I’m everywhere, all the time. Or at least that’s what they tell me. They say I’m always on Facebook, linking every story in the world, and constantly updating my Facebook status.

The truth is that I rarely get on Facebook. I like it a lot. I just don’t have a lot of time for it. I just look active because all my social networks and websites are linked together.

I get asked all the time – how can I get my message out to a lot of people without a lot of work?

The answer is simple – link everything together.

Back to me…

Adrienne updates the PNN Geek links and they update on my Facebook.

Jordan updates PNN News or PNT videos and they update on my Facebook.

Elizabeth uploads our newest photos to Flickr and it updates my Facebook.

I tweet and my Facebook status updates.

I post on my blog and its fed to my Facebook.

As a result – people are getting all that contact on Facebook and thousands more are getting it across those individual mediums. Linking all your activity together will multiply the readership of your content five-fold.
