Anyway, here’s your (not so) Daily Positive Vibes
There’s a rule that I follow in just about everything I do, unless Netflix is involved. That rule — do one more.
All week we’ve been moving homes, thus the reason for less blogging the last few days. Our new home is three stories and yes, that’s a massive pain in the ass when you have a ton of boxes. All week I kept telling myself “just get one more box of up those stairs.”
At work it’s always one more email or one more call.
While training is always one more mile, one more lap or one more push up.
It doesn’t matter what I’m doing. I will alway do one more.
I don’t want to stop when everyone else stops. I want to be the guy doing more. That’s how I grow to be better than I was yesterday.
But sometimes it doesn’t stop at just one more. That’s also a great philosophy on how to take on huge tasks. As it’s said – the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. Sometimes that’s how you clean out an email inbox, get all the boxes upstairs or complete a marathon.
Yesterday I had no interest in running. My legs were completely shot to shit after taking all those boxes up thirty-two steps. After one mile I was ready to stop… Instead, I ran to the mailbox. Then I ran to one more mailbox. Then I ran to one more mailbox. And before I knew it I had run eight miles.
Last night I watched a motivational video by entrepreneur Jesse Itzler in which he said that he also follows the “Do One More” Rule. Awesome! But I thought I created this one. Jesse is a straight baller (Google him) so if I’m doing what he’s doing then I must be on the right track.
Why don’t you try it today? In everything you do, do one more. I think you will find yourself feeling much more accomplished and totally full of POSITIVE VIBES.
