Folks, let’s be real for a minute. I’m guilty. You’re guilty. We are all spreading negativity around the Internet and putting each other in horrible moods. Everything around us is doom and gloom. The world is going to hell in a handbasket. We’re all just bitching and yelling at each other.
The facts are much different. If you’re reading this post, you probably aren’t part of the world’s population living under a violent dictatorial regime. You probably aren’t starving. You probably aren’t in a village ravaged by disease. You probably aren’t fleeing your country and walking thousands of miles to another country that doesn’t want you.
Sure, you might be having a rough go at it, but in the grand scheme of things, compared to much of the world’s population or pretty much everyone who has ever lived on this planet, you have it pretty damn good.
You live in a country that gives you free education and equal opportunity. You have access to some sort of healthcare. You probably have a roof over your head, a temperature controlled home and food in your stomach.
And yes, some have it better than others. Injustice does exist. We are all born into different circumstances. But really, we all have it pretty damn awesome. We hit the jackpot. We were born in America.
Over the past few weeks, you’ve probably noticed a shift in my content. I’m posting a lot of the same images and messages each day. I’m posting more motivational content. Yes, I know it’s repetitive and even cheesy. But I don’t care because I have one goal – cover up some of y’all’s negative bullshit with POSITIVITY!
So, here’s my simple request – will you join me for the remainder of 2018? Just one month. That’s it.
Don’t whine and complain. Don’t post sob stories to make people feel bad for you. Don’t share negative stories. Don’t bitch about politics. Don’t get into online arguments. We’ve had enough of that in 2018 to cover us for the next decade. Let’s enjoy the holiday season and spread positivity to close out 2018 and usher in 2019 on the right foot.
