Your Daily Positive Vibes:
I made a mistake. Yesterday I reactivated my Twitter account to respond to a reporter’s tweet. I was immediately attacked by a Columbia politico who is absolutely one of the most vile humans I’ve ever met. There’s nothing positive about this lobbyist, his character or his actions. He is the embodiment of negativity.
Everything in me wanted to respond but I did not. I realized that I can not control this person’s actions. More devastating is that his personal attack threw me off track, disturbed my focus and stopped me from enjoying time with my family. He put me in a foul mood. Fortunately my mood is something I can control. I re-deactivated my Twitter account and instead decided to focus on what I can control – my own successes.
I have a rule – if something doesn’t fall into one of these categories I don’t focus on it all:
1. Spending time with family
2. Building a relationship with God
3. Building wealth
4. Crossing finish lines
5. Finding peace
Those are things I can control. Things and people I cannot control are irrelevant. They only get in the way of success.
Focus on the positive. Ignore the negative.
Wishing you so many Positive Vibes today.
