The typical campaign launch video formula is a candidate speaking directly to the camera cut with some b-roll of the candidate shaking hands and kissing babies. We’ve all seen it…
In Tina’s video, we knew it was important to use her social media videos to help showcase the depth and excitement of her candidacy. Using the candidate’s self-shot home videos adds an extra layer of authenticity and context to the story you’re trying to tell.
This past month, we launched the digital campaign of Tina Ramirez in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District. Tina is a dynamic candidate with a powerful story. She’s a single mom, an educator, and has traveled the world fighting for religious freedom through her non-profit organization.
Think about it — if everyone is using mobile videos to tell their own story on social media, wouldn’t integrating that medium be helpful when telling the story of a candidate?
Mobile videos take no time to make. Likewise, every candidate between the ages of 18 and 45 years old has a couple of good ones laying around.
Posed, set up b-roll is important. But, in a new era of digital communication, don’t count out mobile video.
