We are all caught in the rat race. We rush from one thing to another, work to school to baseball practice, so rapidly that we barely have enough time to put the cereal bowl in the dishwasher. We surely don’t have time to research physiology or government regulations. That’s why we elect leaders, fund scientists and pay insurance companies. We go to work, pay taxes and expect our money to speak for us. We don’t pay attention because we pay others to do so for us.
We trust institutions like the media because we’ve been told it’s the fourth estate, the next branch of government. Journalists have always been there for us, keeping tabs on government and business, shining a light on corruption because, it is true, sunlight is the best disinfectant. They are here for us. They aren’t chasing profits. Or so we are told.
We trust because we have to. We trust because it’s more important to compete against our neighbors than it is to read a book. Fauci says it, Trump says it, Biden says, Tucker says it, Maddow says it, hell even Big Bird says it… so it has to be true. We follow like sheep because we have time for nothing else.
I’ve been feeling pretty hopeless the last two years. I’ve felt like our nation was heading down a course that could not be reversed. I’ve felt like I was alone and that the supermajority of Americans were asleep, or worse, following Big Tech, Big Government, Big Media and Big Pharma like sheep.
This is the first week I’ve felt any semblance of hope. Finally I feel a shift, albeit a slow one, in public sentiment. I finally feel like Americans are waking up.
The people are tired of lies and back peddling from politicians.
The people are tired of being told they need another shot, then another shot, then another shot and then another.
The people are tired of being put out of work while pharmaceutical companies print billions of dollars.
The people are tired of government actions creating inflation and putting us on a course toward global economic collapse.
The people are tired of censorship and the squashing of alternative scientific opinions.
The people are waking up. The Big 4 have overplayed their hands.
