Your Daily Positive Vibes
This morning I woke up totally exhausted. I overslept by thirty minutes. My back hurt. Moving homes caught up to me. I just felt like garbage. The last thing I wanted to do was swim.
I got up to brush my teeth. I looked in the mirror and pointed at myself (kinda like in this picture but less douchey). I said out loud “you don’t have to swim this morning. You get to swim this morning. Jumping in that pool will take all your pain and stress away.” Literally, I said it out loud, even with my mouth full of tooth paste.
Suddenly everything changed, just like it does most of the time I don’t want to do something.
I don’t have to get on this conference call. I get to build my business.
I don’t have to have this uncomfortable conversation. I get to move on.
I don’t have to run this mile. I get to be alone, away from all the stress, and decompress.
This strategy doesn’t work every single time. Sometimes I’m just stuck in a bad place. You will be too. It’s unavoidable. But I will say that this strategy works about 80% of time just like it did this morning.
Flip that negativity upside down and find the positivity in knocking out something you don’t want to do.
