The Importance of Intentionality

Just a quiet day in the office – everyone’s still out savoring that sweet holiday freedom. We gave the Push Digital Group team an extra day of rest after a six-month rollercoaster of launching a presidential campaign and some mighty big U.S. Senate races. Oh, and that whole merging ninety humans together thing. One day I’ll have to tell you how that’s been.

So, here I am, all alone, with nothing but silence and a Starbucks tall Pike for company. The quiet’s giving me some mental bandwidth to set my sights on the remainder of the year.

I’ve been pondering on something – deliberation, intentionality, call it what you will. How do we take actions that matter, that really make a difference, instead of just always moving? Constant action builds momentum toward success, but it also creates unneeded hardships and deadly anxiety.

I reckon it’s about slowing down, taking a moment, thinking before leaping. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle, but today, I’m taking some time to ask myself – how can I act less, yet achieve more? How can I make every move count?

Sometimes, the world’s a noisy place, but today? Today it’s quiet. And in the quiet, there’s room for thought, for intention, for deliberation. No Zooms. No conference calls. No meetings. No staff, clients or kids. Just thought.
